Yesterday was for getting stuff done.
I finally finished the dress I started for Jas to wear for New Years… And it’s a good thing that I made it a bit bigger than I thought because she definitely has room to grow. For a while.
It’s a stalwart example on why I need to use patterns. But I love the sleeves and luckily, she did too.
In fact, I couldn’t get her to stand still so I could get a picture. She kept twirling and fiddling around.
And in a nod to Caasi and busy moms everywhere, yes my house is a mess! Look, admire! =D After I uploaded the pictures I scampered in to put the spilled box of wipe refills away. The rest can wait.
I also finally got around to making a pair of curtains for the kitchen.
I’m going to tell you a secret.
I didn’t use a pattern (although I doubt that comes as a surprise), I didn’t iron it, and I put the pins in for the hem just from across my lap. So you can imagine my surprise when after finishing both curtains that they were both the exact same length. They look great! Apart from being three inches too short.
But I plan on getting some more white thread (I ran out) and adding a band of white to the top and bottom of them so that it’ll fit correctly.
I wish I could find some more of that fabric. I really, really think it’s pretty. I’d love some pillow covers in that.
On my list of things to sew next are curtains for the Kidlet Room o’ Doom and the breezeway. Yay!
Bahaha. :P
That dress is certainly huge on her.
I’ve got a list a mile long of things I want to do around the house. Over the weekend though I put a major dent in organising our built ins :))
I like it. It looks like she wants to take the sleeves in a little. :D
I can never get my curtains the same length. And I always forget to dry the crap out of them first to shrink them before hemming them perfectly. :/
