I’m looking forward to another pleasant weekend.

Things to do include:

  • Mow the grass
  • Study for a spanish quiz
  • Clean the bathroom
  • Laundry, laundry, laundry, laundry, laundry…
  • Maybe buy paint, maybe not
  • Deposit check
  • Grill up some steaks
  • Tickle the kidlets mercilessly

throwing caution to the wind

Locally, there is some activity stirring up so I’ve been badgering other bloggers. I’ve been considering the idea about posting on local issues but I really don’t think any of you all care much about it. I’m abysmal at running more than one blog though, even though I’d prefer to start such a thing separately. Hmmm.

Speaking of my many overflowing projects, Vakker and I started up a podcast called Idiosyncrasy. I have spelled that name wrong so many times. Every time I type it I have to spell check. =D But we like it, so there. I still need to register it with itunes, but that will be sorted out today too. We’re still tweaking the design (like, majorly) so look for improvements in the future. Check it out though, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Otherwise, I’m trying to prepare for my trip in August. I got a few quotes for renting a car to drive out to VA and about fell over. $1000 for two weeks. Yowch. So I’m tempted to just drive our car and be done with it, engine knocking or no. Heh.

I shouldn’t have visited Carcomplaints.com though, because apparently my car’s engine has a defect where it spontaneously catches fire because engine oil leaks into the manifold gaskets. Um… Prixy, don’t kill us and I’ll give you the good gasoline. =D I guess it shows how badly I want to get out there. I’ll drive slow, or the speed limit, the whole way. Besides, I have car insurance and a cell phone. We’ll have a proper adventure!

Pack the hiking boots.

Cody has one opinion about outdoor activities.

They require air conditioning.

Summer is not acceptable.

why is the rum gone?

flower skirts

I plan on making a skirt that looks almost exactly like this, except right side up.

I’ve also decided that I’m making ribbons as headbands hip again. Along with knitted wrist warmers and skirts. Viva la revolucion!

Speaking of revolutions, I’ve been toying with a few ideas for this journallysituation of mine. Most of them include the destruction of wordpress. Just so all of you are aware kind of in advance. Which means no more commenting and RSS feedness. Woe! For like, five of you. Who I already pester on facebook anyway.

Of course, I have to find the time to make the transition I want and that in itself makes things less likely. Not to mention the fact that many of my AWESOME-RIGHT-BEFORE-BED-IDEAS never make it off the pillow. But this one has a better chance than the rest. Time will tell.

show me your teeth

034

After several attempts at getting shots of his teeth, I finally succeeded. Sneaky baby. Also, I am totally charmed by how much he enjoys swinging. The happy little look on his face and his burbling chuckles. So sweet.

Jas is his complete opposite in that she doesn’t like to swing any faster than the wind is going. That makes her difficult to push because even the gentlest swinging will irritate her and she’ll slide off with a slew of condemnations about going too fast before wandering off to a slide.

So I mostly just sit her on the swing and then walk away. Other parents are confused when they see this but it’s what works for us right now. I remember this one mom actually asked Jas if she wanted pushed and Jas nodded her head. The mom pushed her like a normal kid would enjoy and Jas hopped off furious, turning to glare at her. I tried not to laugh but I didn’t succeed. The mom turned me like, “oh…”

I have a feeling she will not be riding roller coasters with me when she gets older. Maybe Cody will. I hope so. Andy hates rollercoasters and anything that goes faster than a merry-go-round. Which reminds me:

The merry go round, not amused

The look on her face when the ride started was priceless. Shock, horror, awe, moving horses. I wish I’d had the camera ready for that moment. This was after she’d been around a few times and was mellowing out.

She was not amused.

We were though.
