yay civic duty

Illinois had their primary race yesterday and I was so excited to vote. After work I headed out to the local voting location and requested a Green Party ballot all excited.

I admit, I was confused by the eyeroll and blank stare I got as they handed me a piece of paper to visit my booth.

Voting in the primary for a third party is ridiculously easy. Because there is generally only one candidate for a race, if they are even in all the races. They weren’t, but voting is fun anyway. The little scrolly thing. The sticker.

Still. I hope my little vote made some green people happy. That’s right, I vote for aliens. I mean, it didn’t actually do anything. YAY! They were all going to be on the ballot anyway. But still, the sticker.

    I always vote green too!

Also, yesterday I left a comment and it didn’t show up! So i tried to comment again, and it said it was a duplicate comment. I wrote an epic long thank you – erin is awesome comment. Did you never get it?

    Sticker?

What makes our multi-party system work is that for every vote, they get allocated a little more money for the next election, so every vote does count.

    Yey voting!

I got it and approved it. For some reason Wordpress was all WOAH and lumped you in with teh spammers. I’m going to have to have a word with that program…

I wish our system did that.

But yes, the sticker! It says I VOTED! Otherwise it’s pretty blah. I just give all mine to Jasbaz and she loves sticking them on things. She’s a sticker fiend. Her whole face lights up when you give her a new one to play with.

  5. Vote! All the cool kids are doing it :) I love the sticker, too.

We don’t get stickers. Unless you count parking tickets for illegally parking to vote, but those aren’t really sticky per se…
