dear itunes developer

I’ve been cleaning my office and tripping out to the itunes Visualizer. I love that thing.

One of these days I want to get a projector so that I can have all the colors pouring over my walls. Love it.

You did an awesome job coding that. I hope they gave you a raise.

xoxo,

attn: all american taxpayers

Check this thing out. It’s a calculator that takes your yearly income and shows you the breakdown of what your taxes paid for (if you file the 1040EZ). It even shows what your salary would have paid for in the individual years from 1940 to 2010. Very cool.

Found via Get Rich Slowly, which has a corresponding article linked to his individual research. Also, the comments on both articles are worth reading for those of you interested in finances like I am.

yay civic duty

Illinois had their primary race yesterday and I was so excited to vote. After work I headed out to the local voting location and requested a Green Party ballot all excited.

I admit, I was confused by the eyeroll and blank stare I got as they handed me a piece of paper to visit my booth.

Voting in the primary for a third party is ridiculously easy. Because there is generally only one candidate for a race, if they are even in all the races. They weren’t, but voting is fun anyway. The little scrolly thing. The sticker.

Still. I hope my little vote made some green people happy. That’s right, I vote for aliens. I mean, it didn’t actually do anything. YAY! They were all going to be on the ballot anyway. But still, the sticker.

my gift to you on this fine thursday

Free time, wherefore art thou free time?
Whither hast thou gone?

I’m not sure that was correct olde english. It’s been a while since I tangled with Shakespeare so my apologies in advance. It will probably be a good bit longer before I dive into his literary waters again, and definitely not Ophelia style.

Where was I heading with this? Oh yes! While wading through my feedreader this morning I managed to link hop into three hilarious pieces written by a neuroscientist. This man writes the kind of comedy I love to find. And you know what they say, withholding your knowledge is selfish, so here I am to share.

May I present Science’s letters to Media, Homeopathy, and Astrology. He’s made a few more but I haven’t read them all yet. Major big ups for the Media one, which is my favorite so far.

Enjoy! Or you know, grunt angrily. Whatever works for you. =D

Also, even though I rarely have moments to blather on about my day to day woes (today for example, I left my breast pump at home and so I’m hoping I don’t kill anyone because engorgement leads to inexplicable FURY)(which is why I’ve been all PICTURE, tiny words, publish)… I’m looking for yet more humor to add to my feed reader. Found any worthy blogs to suggest? My lolcats need more company.
