rah rah ahahaha roma romama

Today I’m going to learn how to change my wiper blades. I’m sure it’s brain blindingly simple, but I hate reading instructions so I’m going to be asking a coworker with some knowledge in that area. Besides, the little diagrams only show how to put the blade on, not take off the previous one.

In other news, my two classes are going really well. We haven’t really started anything for my audio production class but next week we’ll be doing music mixes in Audacity which is always fun. I have a feeling my Black Eyed Peas CD is going to live it up. Maybe I’ll even cut it with some Lady Gaga. We’ll see.

One class I’m pleasantly surprised by is my Advanced Image and Webpages class. I’ve already learned something I didn’t know how to do and was curious about! Make up a style sheet for printing out your webpages. It’s done the same as a regular style sheet and you just add a different attribute to the tag that links it in. Yay!

I’m kind of disappointed that we’ll be working all in Dreamweaver seeing as how every year or two they like to release a new version and then you have to figure out where everything went. Plus it likes to insert b/s coding that you have to clean out. Meh.

But! We’ll be working with Flash later which I’ve always wanted to learn how to use. And Spry, although I’ve never heard of anyone using it so I’m not sure what it’s for. Still, I’m glad that this class will be filling in more gaps in my self learned edumacation.

I’ve honestly learned more by subscribing to tripwire Magazine‘s feed a few weeks ago than I did from my last Image and Webpages class. Twas ridiculous.

030 052 010One of my many new projects has included taking more pictures of family. I remember last year getting all excited and deciding to take new portraits each month, but that only lasted about a month. Still, we’ve got some family updates that will make it much more likely we’ll get a bunch of good shots on a more regular basis.

It’s a good thing too, because I really need to work on my portraiture.

Anyone have links to some cool photography studios? I’m looking for new inspiration.

flummoxed

One thing I always dislike and feel kind of bad about is unsubscribing to someone’s feed. But I totally had to do so today because a mommy blog took things too far.

I’ve always been kind of lenient because, let’s face it, I think my spawn are the best creatures around. And I love sharing pictures and stories about them with you all. So I can understand posting pictures every day and gushing about them nonstop. Especially if you have a really entertaining writing style.

But no amount of great writing will make it okay that your dad posted on your blog that you were having sex. Like, in another room.

Pardon me while I freak out a little bit. Call me old fashioned but I think there are parts of life that ought to remain separate. Why on earth would you post that on your BLOG? And why would you have sex while your parents were wandering around your house? Kick them out or wait until they leave, for goodness sakes.

Let me go put on my prude coat because just no.

It’s funny and whimsical in pictures. Not fun or whimsical on roads.

Last year, it caused tons of our tree branches to break off and knocked down our power lines. Thankfully just the phone line, which we don’t use, and the electric, but the electric company got it back up a few hours later while we were at work.

This year we didn’t have any tree limbs falling, but it still was not fun. Especially since it happened on Wednesday, my first day back at school.

Also not fun, being in a class where 80% of the students graduated in 08 or 09. From high school. So when we were introducing ourselves and it was my turn I just mentioned that I graduated from a high school in VA and worked as a secretary to pay bills. Kind of didn’t mention my babehs.

I wish I had, now. But I was all nervous and skittery at the time. Especially since this is my fourth year going for a two year degree. Class of 2012!!!

But still. These kids are younger than my sister and I NEVER let her friends intimidate me, ever. So why am I acting crazy now? I should be all BEHOLD MY AWESOMENESS YOUNGSTERS!

Meh. Maybe next semester.
