avoiding doing schoolwork

My new babeh post is still in the works (I’ve four different ideas on how to write it up and no time to do either version correctly)(I’m leaning towards the noir version because I think it’d be a fun take on a birth story but that involves a lot of third person writing which I always feel a little weird doing for extended periods of time) but seeing as how new babehs are quite demanding little creatures, it will have to wait a bit. If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right.

I just wanted to let everyone know that all is well in our little household and Cody is doing splendid. Also, I wanted to procrastinate for a minute before I scramble to finish my final project due tomorrow and study for my final exam for my image and webpages class. Guess what I have to study? Frames. FRAMES. And how to do them in Dreamweaver. I wish I could have taken this class five or six years ago when I was using the damned things. Actually, it might have been longer than that even because I’m pretty sure I never used them on caotica.net and I’d had that domain since March of 2003…

Either way, since I missed both classes last week where our instructor went over it I’m pretty sure that this last test will not go as smoothly as previous ones. He gave me a brief overview of it and I’ll do my best (also, I’ll be studying the basic coding for it tonight so that I can just go into the code aspect of the page and do it avoiding the menus altogether if things get sticky). Mreh.

Also let the record state that going to class as a breastfeeding mum has its drawbacks. The little nursing pads I was wearing were completely soaked by the time I got out of class and I was lucky that I was wearing a thick sweater over my outfit because the entire front of my shirt was drenched. Talk about uncomfortable. And to top off the night, it was raining like crazy so my pant legs, socks, and shoes got soaked as well. When I got home it looked like I’d jumped out of a lake. Not to mention the discomfort of a certain region.

Anyway. In consolation for not sharing super fun details with you all now (because then my noir tale would lose some of its flavor), I’d like to present two pictures of the lovely white roses that Andy got for me about twenty minutes after I had Cody, because the man gets totally spastic at such events. First is a shot I took from my room later on that first day and second is a shot I took about twenty minutes ago when I decided that schoolwork should be pushed back for a hour for some R&R of the journaling variety. And I don’t know what it is about myself, but I find dying roses to be far more beautiful than plush live ones. They have a sad romance to them.
